April 20, 2014

After planning my shoot day, i needed equipment. For equipment, i got to use my cousins professional wedding videography equipment. Ive only used his equipment once before when i went along with him and his partner on a wedding shoot as a shadow.

I spent an hour with my cousin going over all the equipment and figuring out how they work. We started off with the tripods. Tripods are actually a lot harder to figure out. Next, we went over lenses. He provided me with two types of lenses, one with zoom and one without. The camera was a Canon 60D.  He taught me how to use his mics next. He provided a shotgun mic and a clip mic.

For the hour that night, i spent it putting the camera on and off  the tripids, connecting and disconnecting the mics, setting everything up and cleaning everything up. The equipment was very intimidating at first but it became easier as i practiced. What was difficult was figuring out the camera settinsgs.
